Making a path with tiles from Shuri Castle

Mr. Taira, a gardener who manages the landscaping at AMICUS, created a pathway in the school with tiles from Shuri Castle, which was destroyed in a fire, and scallop shells from the Sea of Okhotsk, which Mr. Taira collected. The result is a fun atmosphere with a sense of history.

BEFORE

and AFTER

Mr. Taira took various elements such as Ryukyu Feng Shui, zodiac signs, the Chinese zodiac, the lunar calendar, and lucky colors, and created a design that added them to the AMICUS logo!

Please find Mr. Taira’s work while exploring the school!
