The 3rd grade students participated in a tooth brushing lesson by school dentist Dr. Tomoyuki Kaneko.
Dr. Kaneko is the director of a Dental Clinic in Chatan-cho and the school dentist at AMICUS.
During the dental checkups, he explained to the students how to brush their teeth in English and Japanese as needed. When the dental hygienist taught each student how to brush their teeth, they carefully taught the students how to brush their teeth in a way that suited them.
Nationwide, the 3rd grade is the grade with the highest rate of cavity tooth retention. Dr. Kaneko said that one of the reasons for this was in their age, their parents do not put the finishing touches on their children brushing much.
With the cooperation of Dr. Kaneko, we will continue to provide dental guidance to children so that they can actively work on their own dental health from the perspective of “independence” as stated in our school’s educational philosophy.
