Today, we would like to write about the “kuzu flowers” that can be seen on the AMICUS campus.
Kuzu, one of the seven autumnal flowers, is a versatile plant that can be used from flowers to roots.
The root contains a large amount of starch and can be used to make” kuzuko”(kuzu flour). → Kuzumochi (rice cakes made of kuzu)
Herbal medicine name: “Ka-kon” Medicinal effects: antifebrile, cough suppressant and cold.
It is effective against inflammation such as cold, rhinitis and headaches.
Even without fever, it is used when there is tension in the nape of the neck or back.
It is also commonly prescribed for chronic headaches, especially tension-type headaches and stiff shoulders.
I was surprised at the many benefits of kuzu flowers, which I had seen without much thought.
