9 JH students joined MUN conference in Hong Kong during the 1st week of July. MUN stands for Model United Nations. It is an academic simulation of a formal United Nations conference where delegates represent different countries to discuss solutions to a wide array of global topics.
During the 4-day simulation, students representing delegates debated contentious issues ranging from the Russo-Ukrainian War and the conscription of child soldiers to preserving cultural heritage in hopes of drafting innovative solutions for a more sustainable and equitable future.
Though the content was very challenging for them, each student shared their positions regarding the topic in front of the entire assembly. They also joined the students for meals and social times and had a great time there.
