As part of the Round Square event, of which our school is a member, a Zoom conference was held last Tuesday, March 2.
Over 100 students from 19 schools from 7 countries (Armenia, India, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, and Rwanda), including our school from Japan, participated!
The meeting was led by 9 students representing AMICUS.
1. About what percentage of people in your country(or your region) wear masks?
2. Have you seen a person who doesn’t want to wear a mask during the pandemic? How do you feel about people who refuse to wear masks?
3. Do you like wearing masks? Why or why not?
4. What were your thoughts on masks before the pandemic?
5. Should masks be mandatory?
Based on these five questions, the students exchanged opinions with other students from overseas.
The participating AMICUS students said,
“I was surprised that most of the foreign students thought seriously about masks, such as that they should be mandatory.”
“In Japan, people were familiar with masks before the pandemic, but in other countries, some people said they had never imagined that masks would have such an impact on their lives.”
The conference was a great opportunity to learn about the differences in ideas and cultures around the world.
