5th graders learn about killifish in one of the science units.
They observed them in the AMICUS courtyard.
They also invited Mr. Tokutake from Okinawa Churashima Foundation for a special lecture.
He taught the kids the types and the features of the killifish.
Also, he talked about the Okinawan native species becoming endangered because of the invasion of alien species.
Children thought about the problems that Okinawa was facing, and how to protect the killifish in Okinawa.
5th graders were able to deepen their learning from the lecture! Thank you, Mr. Tokutake!
