On September 18th, the “Shimakutuba no hi”(Island Languages Day), G8 students learned “Uchinaaguchi”(Okinawan dialect as a part of Japanese class).
They started the class by introducing themselves in uchinaaguchi.
Then they sang a song “Warabigami” along the piano and Sanshin.
Many of the AMICUS students are from outside of Okinawa and many of them rarely have the opportunity to listen to the Okinawan language.
But it was a fun opportunity to learn Ucnina-guchi!
