On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, 100 Bechtel Elementary students came to visit AMICUS
and interacted with our 4th graders through various activities.
At the beginning, Grade 4 students shared what they had learned at Shuri Castle Park from their previous field trip.
The presentation was held in eight divided groups and rotated every five minutes.
AMICUS students also made the presentation more interesting to the audience by adding some quizzes.
The Bechtel students were very impressed with the presentations
and learned a lot about the history of the castle and the efforts going toward reconstruction.
After the presentation, both Bechtel and AMICUS students enjoyed some activities such as;
table tennis, pottery, feeding horses, school tour, calligraphy, dancing, library (picture-story show), Science (craft),
origami, and Hyakunin-Isshu (Japanese card game), which are familiar with Japanese culture and AMICUS.
It became a very good experience for both our schools.
We received a lot of positive feedback from students and teachers about the event and look forward to any future exchanges.
Thank you Bechtel students for spending time with us!
