AMICUS invites German students through the “Nichidoku Kodomo seminar” (An exchange program for Japanese and German students) hosted by Okinawa International Youth Hostel, and German Youth Hostel in Saxony every year for cultural exchange.
This year, 14 German students came to AMICUS to spend time together on October 9th.
Grade 4 students welcomed the German students when they arrived at AMICUS.
The grade 4 students showed their various talents by singing German songs, dancing hula, playing violin, demonstrated a robot performance, and enjoyed playing a game of rock, scissors, paper in Okinawan dialect .
From 3rd to 6th period, German students joined junior high school to experience classes and lunch time together.
They practiced eisa with 9th graders as a performance for junior high’s sports day, and during Japanese class, they created a presentation together using three languages; German, Japanese, and English.
Both German students and AMICUS students talked about the differences between Germany and Japan in English which is their second language and had an international exchange.
Thank you very much, German students for coming to AMICUS. And also thank you to the Youth Hostel staffs for organizing the event!
Vielen Dank!
