K1 students (the middle grader of kindergarten) have been learning about the theme “Plants”.
They explored around the school to look for plants that smell good such as herbs and wild grasses.
They found some plants including basil and rosemary, and some of them said “I’ve eaten this before!”, “I had this before on a pizza!”
Then we decided to make pizza as their activity to use the basil.
They tried making the pizza from scratch. They kneaded the pizza dough and left it to rise over night.
On the next day, they rolled out the dough, put the toppings on it, and baked it with the pizza kiln at the playground.
Children shouted “It’s delicious!” and even those who don’t usually eat pizza were able to eat it all.
K2 students (the upper grade of kindergarten) also enjoyed making pizza with K1 students.
They made big delicious pizza as they cooperated with the class members together!
