Junior high held their performance day at OIST on Saturday, July 6th.
Junior high students practiced very hard, discussing their ideas for nearly two months.
It began with a short movie made to show how they practiced. It increased the expectation of the audience.
The first session showcased drama performances by each class and grade.
It started with dance as an opening performance. Students dramatized famous movies, but also created original performances that gave us insight into their creative minds. We could see the individuality of each class. All performances were excellent.
The second session showcased music performances from selected band members, class ensembles and singing.
Students played music from various genres using many brass instruments, traditional cultural instruments, flutes, violins and guitars.
They also played some rare instruments such as tone chimes and recorder harmonica.
At the end of the session, the entire junior high sang a song together titled “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen.
We could feel the students’ versatility and growth that they have made over the past year.
