On January 10th and 11th, we welcomed a group of elementary, junior high and high school students from Yamada Town in Iwate Prefecture.

This was our second time to welcome the group from Iwate, and they all enjoyed participating in our classes and spending time with their host families.

On the last day of their visit, the 16 students from Iwate gave a presentation to grades 5 – 7 about their hometown of Yamada. They taught us how devastating the 3.11 earthquake was, how they recovered, and what they have learned from the incident.  

During this presentation, the AMICUS students who are usually active were respectfully silent listening to their presentation. It was, again, a great experience for both group of students. Hope we meet again!
