AMICUS Cafe was a success at both Naha and Nago.
It is a fine opportunity for parents to hear about our school, directly from our Principal, teachers and staff,
and most importantly, parents themselves, who currently send children to AMICUS.
There were also immersion-style lessons, in languages we don’t get to hear often — Spanish and Tagalog.
Many visitors attended both in Naha and Nago.
Thank you for joining us!!
In Nago, we had beautiful weather, with a fabulous view from the window!
Here is a scene from the Spanish Immersion Lesson in Naha.
cinco (5)… seis (6)… siente (7)… ocho (8)…
“O~~ cho~~~~~~~~!!!”
Children sitting towards the back of the room also participated and enjoyed the lesson!
In Nago, participants enjoyed a lesson in Tagalog. It’s quite challenging, as we have very few opportunities to hear the language.
It was quite interesting to see the “Woooooooo” call for students who did well. We were able to experience a part of Fillipino culture.
AMICUS students are always reliable baby-sitters, since they have many combined classes with students of lower grades and they’ve become used to it.
After getting good exercise with our brains, we had an informal discussion with AMICUS teachers and parents.
Our Principal, Mr. Yasui, shared some ideas on the essential benefits for our children’s future.
He also spoke of how privileged we are in this age, and in this environment of Okinawa.
