Grade 7 had a cooking competition last week .

They have shown their culinary skills as well as their hospitality skills during the competition.

They did an awesome job by serving scrumptious food.

Students were instructed to research the dishes they wanted to prepare. They had to choose a dish from a foreign country (representing a foreign teacher from AMICUS),  one dish from a specific Prefecture of Japan, and the third dish was a free choice. Students chose dishes from the following countries:

America – Hamburger

Spain – Churros

Singapore – Chicken rice

France – Gratin

They made other dishes such as Okonomiyaki, Monja, and Spring rolls among others. After cooking for 1h 30 minutes, they served the judges.

Through  this competition, they have learnt how to manage their budget, planning meals, time management, teamwork and other skills that they need on a daily basis. Below are some pictures showing the students totally engrossed in their cooking.
