Last month, we had the Spelling Bee Contest at AMICUS.
January 30
It took 90 minutes to narrow the field from 18 to 2 spellers, but after 20 rounds and 144 spelling words, we do not yet have an Amicus Spelling Bee winner.
Tomorrow, Yuzuki Kawada and Hanako Koseki will meet to determine the winner.
January 31
In the 26th round of the 1st Amicus Spelling Bee, Yuzuki Kawada won by spelling the word truculently – in a cruel or fierce manner. It was the 169th word in the competition that ended up taking over 2 hours to complete. Congratulations to all competitors.
Yuzuki will travel to Tokyo for the Japan Times Spelling Bee March 3rd. Good luck Yuzuki!
