On Wednesday, the G1 students had an online lecture from WWF and Oji Holdings, themed “Protect the Forest” using Skype. Students learned about animals living in the forest and actions to protect the forest and animals, as well as keeping the trees as resources for human beings.
The following day was the “AMICUS Forest Walk” with guest teachers from Kodomono Kuni and Okinawa Municipal Museum. G1 students explored the precious facility that AMICUS owns, finding various insects and plants, and also by sharing their discoveries through pictures they took using iPads.
G1 students will start working to make Japanese picture books, with the theme “Forests and insects living there” using their knowledge gained through these activities.
