We are continuing our insects activities. This time, we learned about 3 insects’ LIFE CYCLE. ANT 🐜 ~ egg –> larva –> pupa –> adult ~ BEE 🐝 ~ egg –> larva –> pupa –> adult ~ DRAGONFLY ~ egg –> larva –> molt –> adult ~ After that, we made our camera. After catching and sketching insects + insect mission game, K2 friends’ interest in insects have grown more. They made their favorite insect using recycled materials. K2 friends accepted our challenge. They formed 6 teams and each team chose an insect to research on. Mission # 1 : How does it spell? Mission # 2 : What do they eat? Mission # 3 : Draw two kinds of this insect. After accomplishing their mission through research, they had a presentation. After this Mission Game, they got more interested in insects. This week we started our All about me activities to get to know each other better. Students first made their handprint tree. K1 students decided what they want to learn for their main theme. They chose between animals, sea animals, space, insects, and plants. We took a vote and it was decided that we will learn about… Plants! On Wednesday we had our first Kinder Birthday Party. We had a great time celebrating our April birthday friends. K2 friends played the piano, MC’d and performed tricks using tops (koma) and kendama. K1 friends have started our OCTOBER THEME which is PLANTS. It started with our SEPTEMBER THEME which is BUTTERFLY. K1 friends enjoyed the activities and learned more about butterfly. At the end, everyone thought of providing food for the butterfly so, we decided to plant some flowers. They also made their own planter using pet bottles. K1では、10月のテーマ「植物」についての活動が始まりました。9月のK1の学習テーマは「蝶」で、子どもたちは蝶についての活動の中で多くのことを学び、楽しむことができました。その活動の最後、子どもたちから「ちょうちょうにごはんをあげたい。」という声が上がったことにより、いくつかの花の種を撒くことを決め、ペットボトルを使った自分だけのオリジナルプランターも作りました。 Then, we received banana saplings from Mr. Patterson. 大切な海に今、多くのゴミが存在しているということについてK1の子どもたちは話し合いました。海の生き物をテーマに活動に取り組んできた子どもたちは、活動の一環として家庭から持ち寄ったペットボトルキャップを使ってイルカを描きました。 残念ながら校外学習でビーチ（海）に行くことはできないけれど、自分たちに何ができるかを考えた時、まずは身近なところのごみ拾いができるね、という結論になりました。子どもたちからは、「台風が来たら学校に落ちてるごみも海に飛んでいっちゃう。」という声も上がりました。 9月4日、今日は学内を回ってごみ拾いを行いました。始めはごみに気づかず素通りしていた子どもたちも多かったですが、慣れてくると小さなごみにも気が付いて、思っていたよりも多くのごみを集めることができました。 ごみ拾いを終えた後の振り返りでは、ビン、缶、お菓子の袋、マスクなど様々なものが落ちていたことを知り、自分たちも気を付けていかなければいけないということを、改めて感じていました。 Report This Post

One of our friends brought two big bunch of banana last week. Kinder friends enjoyed observing and eating them last Monday. They were so delicious! お友達が持ってきてくれた2房の大きなバナナ。子どもたちは色や硬さの変化を楽しみ、月曜日に自ら収穫して頂きました！味が濃く、甘くてとてもおいしかったです！ K1 friends had P.E. time on Thursday. They were so excited to pop the balloons with their bottoms at the end of P.E. class! 木曜日は体育を行いました。体育活動の最後には、赤白のチームに分かれてお尻を使った風船割り競争をし、子どもたちは大盛り上がりでした。 Report This Post
