Month: June Theme: Transportation
This is how we started our transportation unit for June.
We started the unit asking what they want to know.
Many friends wanted to know about transportation.
We introduced different kinds of transportation in English.
We had different transportation pictures for students to decorate.
Some chose to paint, use crayons, and others decided to cut and paste colored paper.
We also learned the song “The wheels on the bus” while riding the bus in class!!
We made paper airplanes and paper helicopters.
We also made cars!
Another student said, “I made a Lamborghini!!” 🙂
We talked about where they want to go on their transportation.
One student said, “I want to go to the train station with my paper airplane.”
After learning about different transportations, we sorted them into sky, sea, and land transportation.
We learned about numbers too!
During free play, we used the car to make an awesome race course and also made a bullet train HAYABUSA!
Wow! We learned so much in June!!!
Social studies: 園庭に出て違う感触の物を探しました。 (soft, smooth, rough, bumpy)
* 違う感触の物をクラス内で探し、こすり絵をしました。Lego (bumpy)では、「Legoが浮き出てきたー」と言って盛り上がっていました。
*子ども達から、「目が見えなかったら？」と言う声があがり、実際に目隠しをして、盲目の体験をしました。「怖い！」と言いながらも、お友達の肩につかまって歩いていました。
Math：収穫したバジルを使ってのピザ作り。自分たちで、食パンを半分（１/２）に切り、ソースをぬって、チーズとバジルをのせてオーブンに入れたら出来上がり♪ 「チーズが踊ってる！」
Life skills：収穫した、ゴーヤーやオクラを食べました。
子どもたちに、砂糖やバジル、塩やレモンなどを味見したレッスンでは、子どもたちからいろいろな声がでました！塩を舐めたとき、「しょっぱい」ではなく「海の味がする！」という表現が出ました。「海の味と砂糖を混ぜたらどっちが勝つかな？」という話になり、そこから塩や砂糖を混ぜたりして何とも言えない不思議な味を食べ楽しみました。
Art：自分達で育てた、野菜をみながらデッサンしました。
Literacy：上のセンテンスを使って、五感の本を作りました。
G9 students came to Kindergarten. They read different stories and played various games.
At the end, they made friends and enjoyed being together. Thank you G9 brothers and sisters😊❤
４月に植えた、ゴーヤーとオクラを収穫しみんなで食べました。
ゴーヤーを食べる前の笑顔….
一口目のゴーヤー
「にが～い！」
「苦くても自分たちで育てた野菜たべる！！」
泣きながらも頑張って最後まで食べていましたよ！
もっと食べたい！！嫌いだったけどおいしかった！という声も出ていました。
ぜひお家でもゴーヤやオクラ料理を！！
They are getting water.
They mix the water with sodium borate.
Then, they mix Landry Starch and color paint. 🎨
After that, they mixed everything together.
Yeah! We did it:) We made slime. What a Fun Friday? Although not everyone was able to make it perfectly, they feel accomplished because it is their first time to make their own slime experiment 😀
スライム作りで、すこーし うまくいかなかったお友達もいたけど、失敗から学んで今度はうまくいくね！みんなよくがんばりました✨✨
