To reflect on our feelings at the end of Term 1 and the first part of Term 2 and as the end of October approaches we read Color Monster. K1s thought about the feelings they learned about in the book and about other feelings they might have that are not in the book. Then we made our own color monsters to decorate our classroom.
This week we had a lecture from Taiki Sensei, our Eisa instructor. We learned about Mr. Taiki’s “Alohaisai” eisa dance. Students will perform this dance during the sports day. K1 friends worked hard with Taiki Sensei and Asami Sensei to learn the steps. We know you will enjoy their performance.

K2 friends had many fun and exciting activities in September one of those is K2 Fun Day which has become one of their precious memory in their Kinder life! Before the event, teachers and K2 friends decided on the activities and schedule for that day together. After that, we prepared all the materials and decorations.
We made our original lanterns that we used on that night!
We also made our original tie dye shirt. Some of them experience washing clothes for the first time so they said, “It is difficult to squeeze! My hands hurt!” However, we look at it as their learning experience and good way to develop their fine motor skills, so please let them help you at home as well.
The day before the event, Mr. Teruya (てるやのおじさん) taught them how to make fire and assemble woods for the bonfire.
Finally, September 22nd came! We enjoyed obstacle relay, word challenge, soccer, dodgeball, K2 (Talent) Show and bonfire. Please watch the video below.

In August and September we enjoyed K1’s interesting Show and Tell individual presentations. They did a wonderful job speaking in front of their classmates and teacher. We were so pleased by their creativity. Again, parents, thank you for your encouragement and support. We would like to share all of the Show and Tell photos with you. Please enjoy them!
This month we celebrated GRANDPARENTS DAY. We hope you enjoyed celebrating the grandparents in your families. We would like to share some photos with you. K1s enjoyed learning how to recycle plastic PET bottles to make beads for their gift. We would like students to begin thinking about how materials can be recycled or reused so we can be more imaginative as well as kinder to our beautiful Earth.
Recently Mr. Teruya taught us how to play with recyclable materials. We played 4 games:
