K2 Phonics Time
The new School Year has begun. For our K2 friends, more challenging but fun activities are waiting! 🙂 This year, the goal in Phonics Time are the following: (1) learn how to write the letters of the alphabet (2) sound out and blend the letters to help them start reading sight and simple words and (3) express their interests using English words.
K2でもフォニックスタイムが始まりました♪この一年間様々な活動を通してたくさんのことが学べたらなと思っています。今年のフォニックスの目標として、１、アルファベットを書き方を学ぶこと。２、アルファベットの音を学んで英語が読めるようになったらいいな。３、英語を使って、自分の好きなことや興味のあることを伝えたり表したりすること。様々な活動を通し、いろいろなことにチャレンジしていけたらと思っています。
In Phonics, we learn and play together. Learning English is fun but might be challenging for some friends so we ask your cooperation dear parents to please encourage your child to keep their motivation. Let’s enjoy learning together💗

🌤️K2 Clouds Activity ☁️
Do you ever wonder why there are clouds? Why the color of the clouds changes? Why clouds have different shapes? Those are actually our K2 friend’s questions. So, we started to learn about the different types of clouds now.
K2では天気をテーマとしたアクティビティが始まりました。天気の中でも、雲について学び始めています。雲の色の違いや形の違いに疑問を持っていた子どもたち。
Wednesday April 26 : We went outside and check the clouds with Bougainvillea friends. They were asked to spot the clouds and take the picture of their partner. Below are their output on this activity.
実際に外に出て、色々な雲の形を見つけて、今見える雲はどんな形かなぁと探したり観察をしました。
Nice pictures Bougainvillea friends. Many friends said that its a cloudy day. Actually, it was raining a bit early in the morning. After their observation, their assessment is that they saw STRATOCUMULUS Clouds! Fantastic observation everyone! ☁️ 😊
ブーゲンビリアクラスのアクティビティ日は、曇り空ではありましたがお、その中でも子どもたちは雲を観察して形の違いに気づいている様子でした。
The next day (Thursday April 27), Sandanka friends went out as well to observe the clouds. They also check the clouds and take pictures of their partners. Let’s look at the result of their activity.
翌日はサンダンカクラスがアクティビティを行いました。天気も変わり、雲の見え方も変わり、素敵な写真もとれました。
It is definitely a lovely day. After observing and taking pictures, Sandanka friends said there are different types of clouds today. Wonderful observation everyone ⛅😊
サンダンカクラスの子どもたちも、色々な雲の形を見つけ、観察し、自分たちでiPadを使い写真も撮りました。

Last Day of K1
We had a great, busy last day of K1. Our last schedule of K1 included Circle Time, Dance Time, Amicus Closing Ceremony via Zoom, Snack Time, K1 Thank You Walk, Lunch Time, Stations Time, Cleaning, Movie, Height & Weight measurement, Story Time and Home Time. Yes, it was a BUSY Day. Even with the rainy weather we were able to have a lot of fun. Please ask your child about their busy day at home.
K1最終日は、とても忙しい一日となりました。サークルタイム、ダンス、終業式、スナック、「ありがとう」ウォーク、ランチ、ステーションタイム、映画鑑賞、身体測定、ストーリータイム、最後のホームタイム。あいにくの天気でしたが、全力で遊びました。ぜひ、ご家庭でお話を聞いてみてください。
As always K1 teachers THANK YOU parents and families of your support over this school year. Students learned a lot. Teachers learned a lot as well. We appreciate the good times and challenging times. We are happy our K1s have grown up so much. We hope you all have a wonderful and safe Spring Break. We look forward to hearing many vacation stories from the new K2s in April!
この一年間、ご家族の皆様にはたくさんのご理解とご協力をいただきました。そのおかげで、私たち教員も子どもたちと楽しい時間を過ごすことができ、また間近でK1の子どもたちの成長を見守ることができました。ありがとうございます。春休みを経て、４月からはK2になります。一人ひとりが自分らしく、新しいことにも積極的に挑戦し、経験を積んでより成長していってほしいです。

PIZZA PARTY!!!!
Today was the perfect day for a yummy pizza party!!
But before the party we took time to review our “Food & Nutrition” theme from this year.
今日は待ちに待ったピザパーティ！しかも天気はピザ作りにピッタリな最高の一日。
まずピザ作りを始める前に、今年度のテーマの一つでもあった「食べ物と栄養」について振り返る時間を設けました。
Kinder friends remember a lot of information from our Theme. Teachers are so proud of them!
学んだことを今でもしっかりと覚えていた子どもたち。そんなみんなを先生たちは誇らしく思ってますよ😉
Our pizza-making experience-
We made our pizzas using all natural ingredients, most of which were grown here in Okinawa. We used our Amicus pizza oven for the first time in about 3 years! Kinder students learned how to make dough from “scratch” and how to prepare their pizzas. Everyone enjoyed the cooking experience!
ピザ作りをするにあたり、できる限り沖縄県産の食材を使うということを子どもたちとも話しました。食材の中の一つ”ブロッコリー”はK1の畑で育てたものです！
そしてピザを焼くのはアミークスのピザ窯で。窯は約３年ぶりの復活となるため、事前に内部をしっかりときれいにしました✨子どもたちは”生地の作り方”から学び、どのような過程でピザを作っていくのかも知りました。みんなクッキングを楽しみました！
They enjoyed rolling the dough and putting their ingredients on.
自分の生地は自分で伸ばし、具も思い思いに乗せました。
The pizza was delicious. Many friends said, “I want more!”
ピザはとてもおいしく出来上がり、たくさんの子が「おかわり！」と言って２枚目３枚目と食べていました。
