Phonics
K1s are learning to write their name and about the letters and letter sounds of the A and B now. They are having fun singing the ABC song and learning the ASL sign for the letters. Ms. Berry is having fun, too!
Library
Last week we started Library Time. K1s can borrow 2 books every week. Please enjoy reading their books to them.
Activity Time- I’m Special Book Project
K1s continue learning about each other using their I’m Special book. Recently we worked on their page about how tall they are. They enjoyed measuring each other using non-standard measurement tools.

Today is the first time that our K2 friends used AMICUS Library. On our way going up, many friends notice the beautiful clouds.

That’s how they think and learn. After that, all students agreed that this type of cloud is ALTOCUMULUS.

Then, we reached our destination. Our Librarian, Miss Masami Shimabukuro welcomed us. She explained the rules in the Library so that everyone can enjoy reading and borrowing books.
They also had the tour of the different sections in the Library.
Then, they read the books and selected the books that they want to borrow.

On our way back to Kinder, they looked up in the sky again. They noticed that clouds changed. All of them said that this type of cloud is CUMULUS CLOUD.
Please read the books together with your child and bring the Library Bag with books on Monday. We will go to the Library every Friday unless there are events or special schedule. Also, the weather is really good these days so take time to look at they sky and talk to your child about the clouds if you are going outside this weekend. Enjoy ๐

Koinobori- Children’s Day
Children’s Day is a cultural celebration of children. It takes place on May 5th. Hanging carp streamers represents the hope that our children will grow healthy and strong and live long “genki” lives.
