Amicus Kindergarten

Learning to play. Playing to learn. :-)

Welcome to AMICUS Kindergarten

Last Friday, we had a good Opening Ceremony with our students who moved up from K1 to K2😊 Since they missed our campus, we had nature walk around AMICUS after the ceremony.

Today, we welcomed our new students in an ENTRANCE Ceremony❀️

Let’s have fun and learn together this year.β˜€οΈπŸ€©

Remembering 3.11 Tsunami in Northeastern Japan

Last Thursday was the 10th Anniversary of the Tsunami that claimed many lives and resources in Northern part of Japan.

Mr. Hosono talked about the areas affected by the tsunami.

Later on, we watched the actual footage from Youtube. It was heartbreaking and shocking for our Kindergarteners as they cannot imagine the intensity of that event.

Then, he shared about his family’s experience whose living in Tokyo at that time.

After that, we offered 1 minute of silence to remember the victims of the disaster.

Tops Tournament 2021

We did our first Tops (Koma) Tournament. Everyone tried their best (even teachers, too!). Everyone showed good sportsmanship- “Challenge and Try!” Everyone had a great time! Enjoy some of our pictures.

Our three champions: #1- Rikyo! #2- Norris! #3- Mr. Hosono! Congratulations!

We will continue Kendama and Tops challenge in Kinder. Now our Kinder friends are so into it. (They might have asked you to buy top and kendama to practice more.)

Kinder friends enjoy practicing and improving their skills.

Good job, Kinder friends! We look forward to seeing the next stage of this challenge!

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom around Kinder and we enjoyed some time sketching our different cherry blossom scenes…

Last year K2 teachers made pottery magnets. Recently our K2 friends said they want to make pottery magnets, too. So we met our Amicus pottery teacher, Ms. Hasegawa, to start our mini pottery project- magnets!
