Last week, K1 friends were working so hard to make the gifts for their grandparents who are Mommy’s parents and Daddy’s parents. We hope you all had a great weekend with your family and that their grandparents like their gifts!🥰

三連休は、おじいちゃん・おばあちゃんと楽しい時間を過ごせたでしょうか。先週K1の子ども達は、いつもお世話になっている大好きなおじいちゃん・おばあちゃんの為に、感謝の気持ちを込めて一生懸命プレゼントを作りました。一つはママのご両親、もう一つはパパのご両親へです。 🥰

For the wood art, we recycled the tree from Amicus that fell down in the last big typhoon🌳🌪 K1s are thinking a little about SDGs

ビーズの下にある木の部分は、８月の大きな台風６号の被害で倒れてしまったアミークス校内の木を再利用して作りました。K1の子ども達にとって、このプレゼント作りはとても良い経験になりました。🥰✨

K2 Updates

K1 Show & Tell (9/4-9/8)

We continue to enjoy hearing about our K1s’ food experiences and how the food they cooked with benefits our bodies. More friends are challenging themselves to eat a variety of different foods. They are learning to present their work to their friends and speaking in a big voice. They are also learning how to ask each other questions. It has been a fun experience so far!

We are really enjoying hearing K1’s Show & Tell now. Last week, 8 K1 friends did great job. They were using key sentences like, “I made ~.” “It was ~.” during their turn. Also everyone is practicing speak English together:)

K2 Show and Tell

🤩During Summer Break, our K2 friends did a lot of activities or went to many places. They have fun and interesting stories so we thank you dear parents for helping and letting them present their summer break project/memories.
夏休みのミッションにご参加ありがとうございます。夏の思い出を作品にしたり、好きな生き物を工作したり、また、自分の興味あるものを調べて発表したりと、子どもたちにとって、とても刺激のあるShow and Tellになりました。

Our K2 friends used any of these sentences appropriate to their Show and Tell when they presented. 1. This is a _____________. 2. I made a ____________. 3. I went to ____________ with my _____________. After that, they spoke in Japanese to explain further details of their presentation. This activity gave them more confidence to speak in front of everyone and improve their communication skills. We are really happy that we have learned a lot from them. This activity also develop the listening and thinking skills of those who are watching them because they ask questions after each presentation.

Although we are already finished with the Summer Project Show and Tell, if your child went somewhere, made something cool or wants to share anything interesting with us, please don’t hesitate to bring it to school. We will find time to have Show and Tell. 😊

今回のShow and tellを通して子どもたちは、様々な経験をすることができたと思います。英語での説明や（1. This is a _____________. 2. I made a ____________. 3. I went to ____________ with my _____________. ）日本語で、作った時の思いや工夫した所などを発表し、周りからたくさんの歓声をもらい、子どもたちは自信がついた様子でした。

今回のミッションは一旦終わりですが、引き続き子どもたちの、興味関心のある作品を紹介する機会を設けてますので（Show and tell）楽しみにしてます😀

K1 We are back!!

We are very happy that K1 friends are back at AMICUS!! Also they were very happy to see their friends after a long time.

We enjoyed doing our K1 NEWS Channel interview program!! “How was your Summer Break?” “What did you do?” “What did you see?” “Where did you go?”

We all wanted to appear on the news, so we had sharing time with all of K1 friends during Art time. Then, we drew about “My summer break memories” in our sketchbooks.

After the Summer break, K2 friends are happy to be back. Surprisingly, most of them ask first how’s AMICUS and our plants. So, we had a nature walk to check around. Although, we are sad that many trees and other things were destroyed, we are relief to see that many plants are still growing beautifully.
夏休み明け、子どもたちは色々な思い出や、体験をみんなに話してくれました。たくさんの思い出が聞けて嬉しく思います。久しぶりの再会に、いつまでも話が止まらないくらいでした😀幼稚園に戻ってきた子どもたちの様子をご覧ください♩

K2 Updates

Finishing the Summer Break

Hello, K1 friends and parents!! We hope you all had a great summer break🥰

Before summer break we were growing tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots in our K1 Garden. Unfortunately the carrots did not grow. Some of our tomato plants grew but quickly died. Fortunately, our cucumber plants did grow up and we are able to harvest one cucumber from K1’s garden with Azukari friends before the big typhoon came! It was a good experience for the students. We learn that sometimes growing food can be difficult, but we will try again! We are planning to plant winter vegetables after K1s return and learn how to better take care of our crops. We hope no more typhoons will come 😉

AMICUS will resumes tomorrow!! So, we would like to announce about what students need to bring here. Please make sure that your child bring these things in the below:
