K2 Phonics Time

The new School Year has begun. For our K2 friends, more challenging but fun activities are waiting! 🙂 This year, the goal in Phonics Time are the following: (1) learn how to write the letters of the alphabet (2) sound out and blend the letters to help them start reading sight and simple words and (3) express their interests using English words.
K2でもフォニックスタイムが始まりました♪この一年間様々な活動を通してたくさんのことが学べたらなと思っています。今年のフォニックスの目標として、1、アルファベットを書き方を学ぶこと。2、アルファベットの音を学んで英語が読めるようになったらいいな。3、英語を使って、自分の好きなことや興味のあることを伝えたり表したりすること。様々な活動を通し、いろいろなことにチャレンジしていけたらと思っています。

In Phonics, we learn and play together. Learning English is fun but might be challenging for some friends so we ask your cooperation dear parents to please encourage your child to keep their motivation. Let’s enjoy learning together💗

🌤️K2 Clouds Activity ☁️

Do you ever wonder why there are clouds? Why the color of the clouds changes? Why clouds have different shapes? Those are actually our K2 friend’s questions. So, we started to learn about the different types of clouds now.
K2では天気をテーマとしたアクティビティが始まりました。天気の中でも、雲について学び始めています。雲の色の違いや形の違いに疑問を持っていた子どもたち。

Wednesday April 26 : We went outside and check the clouds with Bougainvillea friends. They were asked to spot the clouds and take the picture of their partner. Below are their output on this activity.
実際に外に出て、色々な雲の形を見つけて、今見える雲はどんな形かなぁと探したり観察をしました。

Nice pictures Bougainvillea friends. Many friends said that its a cloudy day. Actually, it was raining a bit early in the morning. After their observation, their assessment is that they saw STRATOCUMULUS Clouds! Fantastic observation everyone! ☁️ 😊
ブーゲンビリアクラスのアクティビティ日は、曇り空ではありましたがお、その中でも子どもたちは雲を観察して形の違いに気づいている様子でした。

The next day (Thursday April 27), Sandanka friends went out as well to observe the clouds. They also check the clouds and take pictures of their partners. Let’s look at the result of their activity.
翌日はサンダンカクラスがアクティビティを行いました。天気も変わり、雲の見え方も変わり、素敵な写真もとれました。

It is definitely a lovely day. After observing and taking pictures, Sandanka friends said there are different types of clouds today. Wonderful observation everyone ⛅😊
サンダンカクラスの子どもたちも、色々な雲の形を見つけ、観察し、自分たちでiPadを使い写真も撮りました。

We also listened to a story “Little Cloud” by Eric Carle.

We are also learning a new song now ” Cloud Song”.

Kinder Strawberry Picking Experience

Yesterday we went on our last field trip of the year to a Kanna Strawberry Farm in Ginzoa. It was a great experience. Students could see how strawberries are grown and how to harvest them- “KONNICHIWA!” We even learned a little bit about how strawberries are good for our bodies- VITAMIN C POWER!

Some friends said, “I ate 20!”, “I ate 50!”, “I ate 100!!” WOW!

After strawberry picking we went to Iha Park here in Uruma City. We played and ate and enjoyed our walk back to school. The weather was BEAUTIFUL! We hope they were able to talk with you about their sweet day!

We ate a lot of strawberries 🍓

After that, we went to Iha Park to play.

Then, ate our lunch together.

Then, we walked back home 🙂

K2 Setsubun and Crazy Hair Day

K2 friends learned about Setsubun.

Today, they used the Uni that they made during art time and throw beans to drive away the ogre inside them.

Today is also our CRAZY HAIR DAY.

We played “What is this?” game with K1 friends.

We also played a game in the gym.

What a wonderful day indeed! 🙂

So creative and unique everyone! You have great ideas. Thank you dear parents and guardians for your cooperation and preparation for this day! 😊

Marathon

AMICUS is blessed with big space and beautiful surroundings. We usually go outside for a nature walk. For over a month, Kinder friends did not just walk around but also practice running for the Marathon. Fortunately, the weather is good yesterday. We are happy that we had the chance to finally to hold this special event.

After Marathon, we had a special game. Rock-Scissors, Paper, 1,2,3!

It was really a fun day! But before we forget, we acknowledge the determination and hard work of all our Kinder friends so everyone got a special certificate. Also, we have a small gift for our game winner and medals to our TOP 3 Marathon runners for both K1 and K2.

How Kinder friends made handmade postcards.

元旦、各ご家庭では子どもたちからの年賀状を受け取り、どのようにその葉書を作ったかということをお聞きになったかもしれません。

As each family received a Nengajou on January 1st, you probably heard from your child how they made their postcard.

幼稚園にはゴミとなってしまうコピー用紙や様々な紙の端切れなどがあります。子どもたちはまず、それらを手でちぎりミキサーに入れました。またグルーの友だちと相談し、色のある紙をひとつかみ入れました。ミキサーで混ざる様子はにみんな大興奮でした!

There are a lot of waste pieces of copy papers or scraps of papers in Kinder. First, Kinder friends ripped up the papers and put them in a mixer. They also put a hand-full of colored paper after they discussed their team’s color with their group members. They were so excited to mix them up!

少しグルーを混ぜた後は水の中にある紙漉き用の特別な枠に流し込みました。手で混ぜ混ぜする感触を楽しんだ子どもたち。

After adding some glue in it, they poured it in the special frame in the water. They enjoyed mixing with their hands.

この紙漉きの活動を通して、子どもたちは手作りの紙の作り方や、リサイクルすることがどのように大切か、また意味のあることなのかということを学びました。

Kinder friends learned how to make handmade paper and how recycling is important and meaningful through this activity.
