Learning to play. Playing to learn. :-)

Zootopia!

K1s have been learning about animals- their poop, their body parts, and more! After our field trip to Okinawa Zoo we began our Zootopia project. Students made animal dioramas and played in their K1 zoo. It was a fun adventure!

Special Playtime with Mr. Teruya

Last week Friday, we had a special guest. We have invited Mr. Teruya to teach K1 and K2 how play using nature materials.

K1 friends played using different kinds of nature materials like pine leaves, foxtail weed, and Spanish needles.

On the other hand, K2 friends made their own windmill.

It was sad that it rained on that day so we played inside the GYM but it was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE 🙂

This week in K1…some “Firsts”

This week we started our K1 Helper Jobs. K1s will now start taking on more responsibilities around in our classroom. Students will help in many roles like helping teachers, teaching the date, the daily schedule, the weather, cleaning up after eating times, composting, changing our classroom books, etc. Please encourage your child to be helpful with things at home, too. They are growing, growing, growing!

今月から、「クラスジョブ」が始まりました。1週間単位で、決められた「ジョブ(役割)」に取り組んでいきます。頑張れ、K1フレンズ♪

We enjoyed our first field trip to Gushikawa Swimming Pool. K1s had a great time in the water. They are excited to go again next week!

初めての水泳教室!入水までは緊張した様子でしたが、最後にはみんな笑顔です☺

After our first swimming lesson, we were hungry!!!

水泳教室の後は、腹ペコの子どもたち。音楽を流してカフェスタイルで優雅なランチをいただきました。いつもより時間をかけながら、ゆっくり美味しい昼食を味わっていました:)

Good Job, K1 friends!!

WELCOME AGAIN TO AMICUS KINDERGARTEN, K1!

Our week has been a great, busy week. We teachers are learning all of our new K1s’ names and faces and personalities. Yes, there was some crying, but there was a lot of smiling and laughing throughout this week, too. We would like to share some of this week’s pictures with you. Please enjoy!
