Zakimi Castle Field Trip

on December 7, 2020

It was a cloudy morning and a little rainy but we decided to go ahead and enjoy our field trip to Zakimi Castle and Yuntanza Museum.

We had many questions and we learned a lot about Zakimi Castle and about life in Okinawa during castle times.

Life in Zakimi Castle times…

We enjoyed touring the museum. We visited a student art show. There were so many interesting pieces of art work made by students from elementary school to junior high school.

We visited a professional art gallery as well. We met the painter.

We enjoyed touring the grounds and seeing the view from the top as well.

We have been practicing how to interview Zakimi Castle guests in Japanese and in English. We were excited to have the opportunity to speak with tourists from America (California), Shiga-ken, Kanagawa-ken, Tokyo, Okayama-ken, and around Okinawa. K2s introduced themselves and asked questions like “Where are you from?” or “Where in Japan are you from?” or “Where in Okinawa are you from?”

We had a great field trip to Zakimi Castle. In the afternoon we drew our favorite memories. Please ask your K2 about it!
