今日は、沖縄市体育館でファミリースポーツデーが行われました。1年生から６年生まで一緒に行うのはだいぶ久しぶりです。３年生、リレー、ダンス、よくがんばりました。保護者競技の台風の目もみんな大張り切りで盛り上がりました。ご協力ありがとうございました。赤いTシャツ、はちまきは洗濯、アイロンをかけていただき月曜日に持たせて下さい。インフルエンザが流行っています。週末、体調を整えてくださいね。 また、子どもたちの演技など写真をシェアしていいかたがいましたら、月曜日iPadにエアドロをして持たせて下さい。

Today, we had Family Sports Day at Okinawa City Gymnasium. It’s been a long time since all students from 1st to 6th grade joined together. The 3rd graders did a great job in the relay and dance. The “Typhoon’s Eye” race for parents was also very exciting and lively. Thank you for your cooperation.

Friday is the actual Sports Day. Everyone has been working hard every day on the flag dance and relay. On Tuesday, we will have a rehearsal at the venue from the morning. Please come to school in your gym clothes. If you have long hair, make sure to tie it in a way that makes it easy to move. PE cap not be used. Thank you for your cooperation.

金曜日はスポーツデーです。3年生は、毎日旗のダンスやリレーの練習を頑張っています。　3日火曜日は会場の体育館でリハーサルです。朝から体育着で登校します。髪の長い人は運動がしやすいようにまとめて下さい。赤白帽はいりません。上ばき、または室内用のくつをはきます。　よろしくお願いします。

アームストロング先生からのメールです

Dear Grade 3 Parents,

I hope this message finds you well. This is Ms. Armstrong. I wanted to reach out to share an update on the Grade 3’s progress with spelling. Since the start of the school year, some students have been averaging 50% or lower on our weekly spelling tests.

These tests are designed not only to help students improve their spelling but also to build foundational skills that support their reading, writing, and overall confidence in English. With just a bit of extra support at home, I believe they can make great progress!

I kindly ask for your help in encouraging them to study the spelling words at home each week. Just a few minutes of practice each day, reading the words aloud, writing them in sentences, or playing simple word games, can make a big difference.

Thank you so much for your continued support. If you’d like any ideas or resources for studying at home, I’m happy to provide suggestions. I’m confident that, with teamwork, we’ll see strong improvement together.

来週金曜日にせまったスポーツデー。クラスフラッグも完成しました。今回は1人ひとりがデザインをしみんなで投票。米田はるひろ君のデザインに決定し、毎日少しずつ色ぬりも進めて今日完成しました。はるひろ君やお手伝いをしてくれたみなさん、ありがとうございました。

On Friday,May 16th we went on our first field trip.We walked around Midorimachi in Uruma city and then took a bus to Kaichu road. Uruma city has many islands,such as Ikei island,Miyagi Island,Henza Island, and Hanahiga Island. On Ikei Island,we got off the bus and visited the Nakahara ruins. After that,we went to the Yakena community center in the Yonashiro area. There three local residents kindly told us about the culture,history,and daily life in Yakena. We are looking forward to continuing our exchange with the people of Yakena in the future.

先週金曜日は初めて校外学習でした。うるま市のみどりまちを歩いて散策し、闘牛場やたくさんの飲食店などを見ました。次にバスで海中道路へ移動。うるま市には伊計島、宮城島、浜比嘉島、平安座島などがあります。みどりまちとは全く違う風景に驚いている生徒もいました。伊計島ではバスから降りて仲原遺跡を見学しました。その後は与那城地区の屋慶名自治会でランチ食べ、午後から3名の地元の方にお話を聞きました。大綱引きで使う鐘なども見せていただき最後まで楽しく学ぶことができました。屋慶名のみなさんに感謝です。次回は勝連城址です。また楽しみですね。
